Since its founding, the company has been engaged by many multi-national firms to do market research studies on Chinese industries and sectors and accomplished more than 40 research reports on China's market studies, mainly on China's machinery, electronics, light industry, electrical engineering sector, industrial products and consumer goods.

Highlights of Market Research Projects:

¡¤ We were engaged by an American machinery manufacturer to conduct a comprehensive research on China's injection molding machine market. The project involved detailed surveys at all levels of plastics sector covering producers, users, etc. We worked closely with our client to assess the market potential, preferred entry points and formulate market entry strategies.

¡¤ We were engaged by a Spanish leather tannery association in cooperation with Arthur Andersen to conduct a high-level market study on Chinese tanned leather market. We conducted a market research project for its tanned leather, which includes a competitive assessment of the supply and demand conditions and other relevant information. The market survey enabled the client to assess the China market potential and its strategic position for business development in China.

¡¤ We were engaged by an Argentine fish exporter to conduct a fish consumption market study and develop a business plan for its fish sales promotion in China. The project includes an analysis of the Chinese fisheries sector which focuses on the target consumers, offer and demand, consumption varieties in selected cities, major foreign competitors and the Chinese government import rules and regulations. It is followed by the formulation of an appropriate market entry strategy, business plan and operational plan that also covers wholesale and retail distribution system and sales promotion. The project enabled the client to assess the market environment and potential in China market and its strategic position for market entry.

Trade and Investment Promotions
UCC also provides professional services for foreign exporters and investors through face-to-face meetings like holding specialized seminars in China. The aim of the seminar is to offer and improve in-depth understanding through in-depth communication between business and politics. Discussions between your export managers and Chinese participants will give an insight into each other's motives, as well as a clear perspective on Chinese business culture.

The combination of focused lectures, meetings with government officials and presentations by managers, will provide participants with long-term strategic insights as well as address short-term business needs and possible bottlenecks. These unique features make the seminar a must for senior managers who want to acquire an in-depth understanding of China within a short period of time.

Subsequently, we present a number of seminars to various Chinese ministries and corporations. For example, here are some examples of the seminars UCC had sponsored successfully before:

Highlights of Investment Promotion Service:
¡¤ Seminar on Sino-Spanish Rail Transit Technology and Equipment in July 1994. More than 40 Spanish corporate officers and Chinese representatives and official from local governments and companies participated the seminar. Officials from the Ministry of Railways attended the event.

¡¤ Seminar on Sino-Argentine Investment Opportunities in Mining Sector in 1995. More than 40 mining related government officials, experts and corporate representatives took part in the seminar. Meanwhile, UCC organized a series of official meetings between Chinese mining ministers and Argentine mining secretary; Mr. Zhu Xun, General Secretary of CPPCC (former Minister of Ministry of Geology and Mineral Resources) spoke highly of the event.

Investment Project Development
From the very beginning when we undertake any market research project and have in-depth understanding of the sector and projects related, we carry out market survey and select some interesting projects and recommend to our clients for their consideration and final decision. Then we work with our clients to develop the project accordingly. UCC also provides necessary coordination and logistic support for the visits clients will need to make to formalize any agreement reached.

UCC will provide crucial support through a number of different collaboration agreements, including distribution agreements between manufacturers, joint manufacturing and distribution agreements, technology transfers and joint venture. In short, to help client make a success of clients business in China.

To this end, UCC equips its clients with two basic advantages: its proven capacity as intermediaries and consultants and a top-flight team of tried and tested professionals with long professional experience of providing consultancy and assessment services on an international basis.

Highlights of Investment Consulting Service:
¡¤ UCC was engaged by a Spanish firm to seek for a project for joint venture manufacture of LPG conversion equipment in Tianjin (1999). UCC defined the project by conducting market research and identified Chinese companies who were interested in the cooperation. UCC helped the Spanish firm to negotiate and set up interested JV agreements with the Chinese firms selected. In six months, the Sino-Spanish JV was set up between the two parties in Tianjin.

¡¤ UCC was engaged by a Spanish elevator guide manufacturer to look for an investment project for joint venture manufacture of elevator guides in China in 1996-1997. After we investigated the market and major Chinese manufacturers in the sector, we presented our market research report with our professional conclusion to the client, recommending a couple of strong partners we carefully selected for final decision of the client. The Spanish client had successfully set up two joint ventures with two of the largest elevator guide producers in Beijing and Shanghai respectively in 1998.

¡¤ UCC was engaged by a Spanish mining corporation to identify an investment project for joint exploring roofing slate in China and exporting to the European market in 1997. In the first phase, we offered a detailed investigation report on the nationwide slate resources and joint mining possibility including mining policy and regulations in China. The investigation focuses on the natural resource and geological conditions of exploring similar black roofing slate popular in Europe. A couple of Chinese partners interested in working with the client were chosen and recommended to the client after we conducted our investigation. In the second phase, we represent the client in working on joint exploitation of the mining condition and preparation of an establishment of joint venture with the local partner we chose as the best. In early 1999, the joint venture mining corporation was set up and large-scale exploration and export of the roofing slate were exported to Spain since the second half of 1999.

Management Consultancy
Upon request, we also provide management consultant services for Chinese enterprises and Sino-foreign joint venture enterprises that are in great difficulty in managing and operating their enterprises.

Highlight of Management Consultancy Service
¡¤ UCC was engaged by a plastic plant in Shandong Province, which was a rural township enterprise and in a difficult position to operate expansive reproduction in 1993-1994. After signing the engagement agreement, we sent our management consultants to investigate all influential factors at the plant. After three months' on-the-site research, discussions and diagnosis, we prepared a report on the operation and management of the plant, concluding that a corporate culture should be implemented among the managerial staff and workers so as to improve their overall responsibility and enthusiasm in carrying out total quality control (TQC) system.

¡¤ In 1997-1998, UCC was engaged by a Spanish wind turbine manufacturer to provide management consulting service for undergoing investment project in Luoyang, China with a local partner. As the Spanish client had some doubt about the market demand and prospects of manufacturing and marketing the equipment in China and its partner's capacity to work with, we had conducted detailed studies of the market and investigation of the local partner, concluding that its large capacity wind turbines with latest design technology and process are greatly needed in the Chinese market and the market demand remains in short of supply in the long run. Its local partner has experience in cooperating with overseas partner. In October 1998, the two sides signed the $3 million worth investment contract.

¡¤ In 2000, UCC was engaged by a Spanish Sodium Sulphate producer to provide management consulting service for its joint venture investment project in Jiangsu Province with Shanxi Nafeng Chemical Group Co. As the Spanish partner had few confidence in the business and knowledge in communicating with the Chinese partner during the start-up period, we helped the two sides to cooperate well in getting over many cultural obstacles in the trans-cultural communications and re-established confidence in the joint venture operation in the Chinese soil. The major measures we recommend for their adoption include multi-lateral communications with the local government department for support, bilateral understanding, re-arrangement of key personnel in the key positions, etc.

¡¤ In 2002, UCC was engaged by a Spanish toothbrush producer to look for a Chinese partner to manufacture toothbrushes for domestic and East Asian markets. After conducting a comprehensive market research for the overseas partner, we focus Tianjin No. 7 Plastic Products Factory, a medium-side state-owned enterprise as an ideal partner for acquisition by the Spanish investor. The acquisition negotiation of the 80% share of the Target Company by the Spanish producer was finished. The acquisition contract was signed in the Mid-2003.
