Our Staff
The quality of our professionals and the depth of our in-house information are two key strengths of UCC.

UCC realizes that entering the era of knowledge economy in the 21st century, the key to the developmental success of UCC as an international consulting service provider lies in the mind of knowledge-workers as Mr. Peter F. Drucker said. The core of any consulting firm is people, and UCC's professionals are experienced, trained international specialists. A large portion of our staff is indigenous to the countries in which we work. Each professional is highly skilled and contributes to the firm's depth of expertise and capabilities. Our people come from a variety of background, including industry, consulting and investment banking. We seek individuals who have the necessary analytical, linguistic and interpersonal skills to contribute to our case teams and to thrive in our demanding and challenging culture. UCC has the necessary language skills and background to work internationally, and our professionals have direct experience n all the countries of the world in which we work. Our staff has considered technical skill, built through education, experience, and in-house training.

UCC's foreign-based staffs are most indigenous, experienced, highly educated men and women with knowledge of local industry and considerable access to information and decision-makers. They are supported by senior professionals from UCC's offices around the world.

Up to today, UCC has grouped around itself a team of senior experts experienced in the fields of market research, information analysis, financial analysis, legal consultancy, and industrial technology and dedicated to the development of cooperative relations with people of various types of businesses. For example, UCC has employed many senior research fellows at Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS), the most authoritative research and high ranking administrative advisory organization directly under the State Council for offering the most authoritative viewpoints about the Chinese economy and social development since its founding time.

At the same time, senior engineers, and technicians or experts from difference industrial sectors to be surveyed will join hand in the designing and planning of our projects and all of the research work. For example, Mr. Yan Qiguang was born in Guangdong province in 1945. He graduated from Central China University of Technology in 1967 with a B. S. technology and worked in Beijing Internal Combustion Engine Group Company until 1999 as chief engineer at the group.

The senior automotive engineer has been working in the Chinese automotive sector for over 30 years with rich experiences in dealing with foreign companies which did business with Chinese counterparts, such as acting as chief negotiator of the Chinese party to import sets of automotive machining center, foundry machinery and other machinery processing equipment from GM, Loramendi of USA, Spain respectively. He also went to those countries for visits to those machinery suppliers and inspection of the machinery and equipments purchased.

Then, Mr. Yan joined UCC in 2000 as one of the senior engineers and advisors on auto sector.

He is also professor at Tsinhua University and member of experts committee at Chinese International Engineering Consultancy Corporation (CIECC) under National Development and Reform Committee (NDRC), the highest executive administrative organ under the State Council. He can speak perfect English and has mastery of auto engineering sciences and technical terms and other terminology related to auto industry.

Because of his three decades long work experience in the auto sector and his reputation, he has been setting up a wide and extensive PR networks in the Chinese auto sector where many of the officials and experts are his colleagues or students.

In order to motivate its invaluable executives and partners to contribute more to the growth of the firm, UCC has adopted new type of income distribution systems such as ESOP and ESO during the past decade. These institutional innovations prove incredibly effective and successful. UCC also has adopted an outsourcing strategy when it finds it most economically feasible undertaking various consulting projects in China.

UCC Chinese Co-Director Dr. Thomas Yin was celebrating the great success of Sino-Argentine Mining Seminar with his former client and current Spanish Co-Director Victor Herrero in November 1995.
